please liberate tatkal ticket system from the clutches of touts (ticket booking agencies), otherwise declare that bjp government is same as congress system in corruption. i have never got tatkal ticket when i try it in irctc at my computer. but travel agency in nearby market always get this ticket for me, for which he charges 500 rupees as his 'DALAALI'. modi ji, when we will get corruption free government machinery in india including in railways. out of 1826 days, 210 days are already over.

Ticket vending machines fully automated should be installed in all railway stations. this machine should be able to issue tickets after accepting the coins and money. The machine should be able to give the printed timetable along with the platform numbers in each station.New fare system like flight booking can be adopted. Flexible ticket where passengers will get a full flexibility in cancelling and changing the dates. This method will help in unnecessary Rush in the stations &servers

Tatkal reservation for all trains start at 10:00 online. It places a severe load on the computerized reservation system. If we deploy a powerful system that can meet this overload, it will be underutilized at other times. The Tatkal reservation for a particular train should start 24 hours before its starting time. This would spread out the load evenly across the day. Trains starting at midnight when reservation system sleeps (for 6 hours say) can be booked 24+6 hours earlier.

1. The TTE should be provided with a tablet on which he can check the ticket of the passengers instead of roaming around in the train. 2. Instead of the passengers booking their travelling tickets in advance,a machine should fitted at the entrance of the train which will isssue a one time ticket to the passenger on the spot when he\she provides the basic information such as name, age, gender & destination

There should be display system in each coach and while the TT is checking the tickets inside the coach , it should display the seats, which are available because of last minute cancellation/ passenger not able to board. These vacant births are source of great corruption as these are given to people offering money to the TT instead of RAC passengers!

Unreserve ticket may also be allowed online . Reserve tickets may be booked up to last minute of departure of train . All running staff of railway may be provided with mini laptop or tablet instead of hard copy of passanger list. They check passanger online on laptop/ tablet. If seat available any body can book on running train. If a seat is booked for half journey of that train balance portion may be shown vacant seat ,programme of computer may be adjusted .

My view is that for buying platform ticketsand tickets for short distances and for general tickets vending system shoulde be used and for longer distances ticket can be purchased from ticket counter and credit/ddbit should be used for payment and an automatic ticket checking door should be used at exit to reduce the number of people travelling without ticket and to reduce rush at stations.

Premium Tatkal: Its a master Stroke because of 2 reasons. (1) It kind of dismisses the middle-man/agents who used to take extra money get tickets from couter. (2) Also It adds more monetary value to Government. But there should be an upper limit for Premium Tatkal Fare(If It's already not there) i.e. Not more than twice the Orignal Fare (i.e. w/o Tatkal). Ex. Orignal=2700, Tatkal=3000 and Premium Tatkal

Penalty on Late Arrival at Destination: When One tries to buy tickets using Premium Tatkal option, He has to literally pay for every second as Fare keeps on increasing but there's no penalty on Railways when they reach destination late by more than 2 hours. Isn't this unfair and an act of cheating? There should be penalty on Railways except ACT OF GOD scenarios. Whether It should be Full/half/one-fourth of the total Fare depending upon distance, type of trains etc.
