Reduce costs of online booking to reduce congestion at stations. Use ATMs for reservation. Provide hand held devices with wifi and card reading facility to TTes to check and issue tickets in train to reduce corruption, bring in more revenue and help people. Also bring in differential costing for buying tickets online, ATVMs and from window. It will increase efficiency and boost revenue. Use Data mining to add/reduce trains and coaches s as to boost revenue and optimal resource optimisation.

RESERVED TICKETS 1. Train Ticket Examiners should be given handheld terminals to check tickets, especially on reserved coaches. 2. The same terminal should have capacity to issue excess fare receipts as well as fines. 3. The checking of tickets in reserved coaches should be via this terminal rather than manual charts. 4. This will ensure no corruption in giving berths to wait listed passengers. 5. Also will leave no room for corruption in collection of excess fares.

I think, ticket checking must be done real time based. TTs mustbe equipped with gprs based tablets where checking should b done thru software where images of passenger is to be taken as mandate which could be cross checked in backhand suppose if any terrorist is travelling in train and this software has a system to cross verify the passengers images with preloaded images of wanted criminals then it would also help as per security aspect.

we all indian have to become self respecting person by means of buying the ticket without fail. if anyone forget or unable to buy a ticket, he should call a number (designated for this job) and he should deposit the required fare. charity begins at home. a big amount of wasteful expenses can be saved. now he can buy a platform ticket on line, let he may travel with that online ticket and request for updation of this platform ticket as full fledged ticket with guard of the train.

Though the online bookings in the railway is surely an advantage, it is having some adverse effect on railway employees who receive privilege passes duly issued by the authority. Since their is no system currently in place to book railway reservations online with the privilege pass, the employees hardly get confirm reservation through the reservation counters. I urge the authorities to look into this matter and implement a centralized reservation system for all citizens.

NTES is a very good app for passengers. A similar realtime online app/ software may be developed & a GPRS enabled tab set may be provided to TTEs working onboard. TTE will be required to update status regarding passengers boarded/ not boarded at each station. Vacant seats & berths may thus be available at realtime for booking even during the run of the train - online & thru PRS centers. TTE will also continuously receive updates on new reserved passengers. Corrupt practices of TTEs will stop.

tracking of vacant position should be displayed inside the compartment to know the passanger and demand the TTE for the vacant seats to be allotted. Also with the help of GPRS mechanism TTE should bill the passanger. More on to it, passangers should pay only the bill amount than exercising bribes to TTE's and blaming at the end should be stopped.
