Start Date :
Jan 01, 2015
Last Date :
Jul 17, 2015
04:15 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Train running status information is made available to passengers through website enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/ntes/, mobile applications, SMS and IVRS at 139.Suggest solutions for ...
A facility to be started wherein people can simply message their desire on a particular number through sms that on which date & where they want to go , by doing this railway will see that whether on those routes they have to increase a Compartment or they have to run another train on the same route as per the strength of the passengers , by this way they will be sure that their 1 sms can arrange a compartment or a train for them . Jai Hind
There is a 5th way of obtaining a train's status. If we have friends / relatives travelling on a train, we can call them and ask them of their actual location, and thereby estimate the arrival times. For this to work well, each coach of the train should have a display providing the train's status (scheduled arrival, estimated arrival, distance covered, distance remaining, current location, next station, etc
By doing so, travelers can keep their families/friends informed of the trains' status.
More call centres should be open where in cutomer service people can be added to help consumer .
This will improve improve consumer relation with railway & it will generate more jobs
There are 4 ways of obtaining a train's status.
1) At a Station
2) Website
3) Calling (IVRS)
4) Text Message (SMS)
IR should improve each of the above (will cover that in a separate post). At a minimum, the following information should be available through each of the above.
1) Schedule adherence, 2) Current location of the train, 3) Estimated arrival/departure of the chosen location (by the user), 4) Estimated platform of arrival/departure
More features can be added as needed.
Wifi and Mobile signal booster for traveller
for Wireless internet, provide a password for wifi connection along with the booked ticket for a passenger which gets activated from origin station and last long upto the destination of the passenger/
Instead of Google, TomTom could be also a possible great option for Rail Govt. To do such tie up
Why isn't india developing the wimax systems as i beleve they are the future of development
Digital services be reliable and processing should be fast and such database should be created so that passengers are highly adepted. Rest it should be simple and easy to understnd and everyone can use it should be taken in mind.
Partner with Google to map entire Rail Network. Have a GPS tracking device in each train. Train status can be displayed real time on the app devised basis Train number. Google can provide time estimates for any locations basis historical data available with it. The app can provide option to trigger SMS to user once the train reaches any station of user’s choice to provide him adequate time to prepare for arrival/departure at the destination. A nominal charge can be levied for revenue generation
It's better to keep GPS tracking technology in trains so that if the train is late we can opt for another source of transport rather than wasting time in station
