On March 2nd at 3:30 pm, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman, and noted economist, Dr. Arvind Panagariya, will unfold the many intricacies of the Union Budget and explicate its real impact on various crucial sectors of the economy.

This is the first of its kind, one-on-one interaction of NITI’s experts with the public on the Budget, and will focus on what the budget means to the common man. The live talks have been scheduled soon after the Budget release, so that experts heading the policy think tank of India can elucidate to people the its provisions, along with the short and long-term possibilities and challenges it poses for India.

Besides providing an exclusive, expert perspective on the Union Budget, Dr. Panagariya will also take questions directly from viewers. The Budget 2016 looks like a balance one. The budget being pro-poor, pro-farmer and pro-rural is an impetus for an overall development of the nation. When a deprived sections of society are looked after the whole nation can expect a positive results.

I specifically logged in to MyGov to register our family displeasure for taxing any part of EPF. This is totally wrong, you can have any intention of moving the people towards NPS.

In any context, Taxing the EPF is very wrong. Really unhappy with the government.

Regarding financial inclusion,I would like to suggest that unless we recognise poors ,it would be impossible for the government to bring these deprived sections into the mainstream. For thorough recognition of the poors,we need to take certain steps. These are-(1)Pan card and Aadhar card to every household.(2)Fixing ceiling of a maximum of ₹10000 or so which can be received in cash(3)Above this, only e-transaction,etc.These can give true information about correct income of every household. Tax the millionaires but in your budget there is nothing positive for salaried middle class and instead you are taxing EPF and PPF so that after retirement too u can harass them...if you cant help the salaried middle class ..then you are not allowed to take such draconian measures...its not at all permissible

Please dont take the drastic step of taxing EPF or PPF...this is sucidal for millions of middle class already crushed by price rise...you r taking the hard earned money of people investing with full faith in govt PF....kindly roll it back...please...its suicidal
