The legal system is far from satisfactory. As the litigation drags both parties get fed up but are helpless. Court load and misuse by way of adjournments are primarily responsible. While the revamp of legal system is the need of the hour, implementation is easier said than done. I have the following adhoc suggestion which can be tried. 1. A separate Compromise court by way of a Pilot implementation be set up in few capital cities 2. Option be given to those parties whose cases are pending for more than 5 years 3. The Presiding Officer should seriously try for a compromise 4. Maximum time given is 6 months 5. There should be no adjournment beyond 15 days each time 6. If compromise not achieved within 180 days, case will be auto-transferred back to original court This will compel litigants to close at the earliest. This way, at least those cases where parties want solution will get resolved. If the pilot court succeeds, then new courts as required may be added gradually,

Dear sir My journey as a physician after my MBBS in Government Medical College, Calicut, started in a village Umri, in Maharashtra. It was a shock to see the challenges that the villagers and tribals faced there. In 1994, I decided to do my speciality in Family Medicine, to equip me to work among the poor of our nation. After my 3 year DNB in Family Medicine, I joined Christian Medical College, Vellore in the year 2000. I have been working in the 48 bed Low Cost Effective Care Unit of CMC from 2001, an urban community health centre for the poor of Vellore under the Department of Family Medicine. We also have 2 Family Medicine Centres for the more affluent population. Our aim is for each family to have a family doctor, in the rich tradition of Family Physicians, that India had in the past. In 2012 I became the first professor of Family Medicine in India and we could start our MD in the specialty. Exciting to see the government promoting MD Family Medicine which is the need of the hour
