Getting Visa to travel to India in US and Canada is a real hassle. This leaves a really bad impressions especially to tourists who want to travel to India and some even cancel their tour to India because of all the delays in getting VISA and Indian Officials bad attitude and laziness. They can't treat foreigners as Indians since they're used to easy and timely processes of getting visa without much problem. I think government officials should be smiling/positive to tourists wanting to go India.

I think the firstly the Visa issue, we need to have on-arrival visa for all NRI rather than they need to get visa for there travel. Solution :- Enable online visa system with automatic receiving of Visa Online.or/and On-Arrival Visa for all NRIs. Secondly the fees for OCI Card is really high and also we need to pay for surrendering India Passport too. I would suggest we need to look into these issues. Solution :- Exempt the fees to surrender passport and also reduce the fees for OCI.

Empower NRIs to vote in atleast the Lok-Sabha elections by making such provision at our consulate / embassy / high-commission in countries with a big NRI community (USA UK Australia Canada Singapore etc). All NRIs may even be allowed to vote in LS elections through online-voting on internet.

We need to consider an open debate on dual citizenship and its benefits or problems. In the new age, the Indians abroad will be the valuable links to an international indian image and positioning as a global power.

I live in USA and wanted to bring the issue for the required changes in OCI rules. If a previous Indian citizen by birth has citizenship of another country before becoming USA citizen, he/she will not be eligible for OCI as per rules posted in Indian Consulate Houton website which says that USA citizenship certificate should show previous citizenship as India. My mother, an Indian citrizen by birth spending 65 years in India became NZ citizen and then became US citizen will not get OCI? Not fair
