In para 32 of the Budget Speech of the Hon’ble Finance Minister an announcement was made that an Online Procurement System will be undertaken through the Food Corporation of India which will usher in transparency and convenience to the farmers through prior registration and monitoring of actual procurement.
Accordingly, FCI has developed an Online Procurement System for food grains which will allow farmers to register for procurement of their food grains, get appointment of time and date of their convenience to visit mandi to sell their produce sold by them as also get information with regard to quality parameters and weight of the produce sold by them as also get SMS alerts regarding payment credited into their account electronically. This system has been designed with an objective to bring in transparency and given convenience to the farmers as also to empower them to benefit from the system of procurement at the minimum support prices.
The key objectives of the Online Procurement module are:
-Creating Online platform for registration of farmers
-Increasing operational efficiency in procurement and thus bringing transparency
-Encourage farmers for direct sell to FCI and enhance the reach of MSP
-System based scheduling of appointment brings more convenience to farmers
-Instant acknowledgement to farmer that his produce is fully accepted
-Facilitate early payments to farmers
In order to implement this project, FCI proposes to organize a competition on MyGov platform to design the logo and tagline for Online Procurement Module.
The total prize money for wining logo and tagline will be Rs. 5000/-.
The last date for submission is midnight of 4th November, 2016.
The prize money of Rs.5000/- is to be given to a single participant only.

OPM logo is form with Graceful Branches of Grain in form of "F" letter with Cell phone to suggest Online communication. "F" letter stands for FCI. It is unique, very clean and memorable. This logo is suitable to use minimum sixe. It is also fit for mobile app. Green colour also stands for farmers, progress and Money. Yellow colour suggest gold, Prosperity, Happiness. Blue colour symbolized intelligence. Represents knowledge, power and integrity.

The sack is grains is symbolized as cart with wheels to show the procurement of grains through online portal. It as arrowed circles surrounded over it which shows the direct selling and recieving benefits from FCI. The color pallet of circle is taken as hues of green which depicts farming as well as money.
