The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

This logo unit has been given a simple and contemporary look to create an easy recall value to the mass.
The 'A' in the word INDIA is deliberately given the shape of a cursor in sync with the character of the logo.
The Logo:
‘D’ and ‘I’ come together to form the ‘Next Track’ icon commonly see on Digital devices. It symbolises an India that is keen to move to the next stage, with Digital at it's forefront.
Philosophy:
A country cannot move ahead if it leaves a part of it's people behind. Only digital has the ability to empower each and every citizen of this country alike. Only digital can take India to it’s next stage; to it's bright future.
The symbol indicates the style of famous internet symbol @ with "d" and "i", the first letter of "Digital" and "India" respectively. It is a traditional 7 segment digital font denotes the meaning digital at first look. The color of the font resembles our flag. The satellite and the dish shows the enhancement of digital communications through the concept of "Digital India" that is going to make the life of every common man very simple and proud. The aim is obviously "direct to people" .
