The inspiration for the logo has come from the hexagonal shape of the molecular structure of graphene (the material for new-age computer chip). Six hexagons overlap in a circular pattern in a rainbow of colours. The structure of graphene is apt as it signifies next generation technology.

Digital India D and I are merged to form the main logo body. Within the main logo body you will find logos of govt.'s schemes and initiatives along with other popular social media logos which emphasizes (the trend promoted by/in the recent government) the need to involve all the available mediums for reaching the common masses of the country. Ashok Chakra in the centre signifies that it should be a never ending process. - Kumar Sambhav Garg
