The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

Here i have created a India which is getting transformed into a digital economy.The design shows that process is already initiated and done on one part of India(west and south)and now central India are in the process of transformation.I chose warm and cool combination of colors because these associate with variety.

The logo is an artistic illustration of 'di'. The idea the logo communicates is 'digitally connecting India comprehensively from top to bottom'. This is represented by the arrow signs (symbolizing connectivity) pointing from the bottom to the top of the 'i' (where i represents India) forming the 'd' of digital. The 'i' has the signal symbol over it which symbolizes India as digitally empowered. The 'i' also looks like a human figure so it symbolizes that Indian citizens are digitally empowered.

LOGO CONCEPT: OVERALL:Digital technology to be accessible and digital culture imbibed into life of common man.Digitally empowered citizens forms the greatest strength and opens up infinite opportunities to the nation. ELEMENTS: Letters D and I have been incorporated to form 'SATELLITE TOWER' (with shapes of headphones,Wi-Fi,mouse,monitor,keyboard,cellphone) & 'DIGITALLY EMPOWERED CITIZEN'. COLOURS: Tricolor-India,GREY-high technology,DARK BLUE-protection,strength,LIGHT BLUE-high ideals,infinity.

Digital India: Basically Digital means combination of 0's and 1's. This logo contains a visual pun which has two meanings 1. Orange circles and Green circles are 0's and connecting lines are 1's which represents Digital. 2. Indian citizens are represented by Orange head and Grey body. Every citizen is digitally empowered and they are seamlessly connected to each other and Government which is represented by centred Green circle.
