In India, historically, we have had different phone numbers to call police, fire and ambulance services namely 100, 102, 103 and other numbers for different kinds of emergency. It was realised that all emergency services should be converted into single emergency response system. The need was felt to bridge the gap between the police forces and citizens in the hour of emergency.
In lieu of the above, Ministry of Home Affairs designed “Nationwide Emergency Response System (NERS)” to cater to the growing demand for single emergency number across the country. The Department of Telecommunications has allotted the emergency number ‘112’ for this project. It is a centralized system with the IT infrastructure hosted on central cloud services. This system connects with the state level Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). A PSAP facility will run 24 hours a day, dispatching emergency services as required. Trained agents would be responsible for dispatching the emergency services.
The system is envisaged to take inputs from various sources such as mobile phone calls, landline calls, SMS, email, chat messenger, panic buttons in public transport, voice over IP, mobile application and internet of things devices. As soon as the input message is received in the NERS system, it would be attended and GIS/ GPS enabled vehicles would be dispatched. It’s a state of art system which would track the case till its closure by the emergency vehicle. The emergency would initially include police services for responding to the calls made by women in distress and later would be extended to medical, fire, disaster management and other such emergency services. Once fully implemented, any citizen calling for any emergency service across the country would connect with 112 and would get attended by the emergency responders.
The system aims to reduce the emergency turnaround time, provide single emergency number, provide efficient services to the citizen in distress, provide counselling to citizens and track the case closure. The system will benefit all citizens and provide safer environment in the country.

I have designed the logo for NERS,representing "One Nation One Number" policy.I have used Saffron, Green circular bands and white band with "NATIONWIDE EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM" and "INDIA" in Blue colour on White base. All together it represents the National Flag. The purpose of using Red colour for 112 is due to visibility associated with the RED colour. Also used Police,Fire,Ambulance. The logo itself gives a very neat impression and prominently shows a complete message of its purpose.
Sir, My version of NERS logo symbolizes single emergency no. 112 in the center, with which person in distress can call. The outer circle illustrates 24hrs and emergency turnaround time in case of emergency situation. The red circle symbolizes citizen who will receive counseling's from NERS team. Red color is used as a symbol for alertness and emergency. Blue color represents trust and faith of citizen in NERS team.
I don't have any software to design our logo, so i have made a pencil sketch with my view.
Our logo represents the meaning of emergency in three different ways..
1. The modification of alphabets 'R' & 'Y' gives meaning of helping hands.
2. Wings represents the fastest response to situation.
3. And the stethoscope embedded in 'Y' shows medical help.
Over all view of our logo is emergency. I hope this logo satisfies your conditions.

My logo comprises of 3 colors only in order to hold the attention of the viewer. It represents 3 kinds of problems- of water, land, and fire. It also shows symbols of medical and police help separately. The "Call 112" message on top depicting the priority of the logo is bold and clear. NERS written below explains its context further. It has been designed keeping in mind both the literate and the illiterate population of India.
