Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) is a registered society set up under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India. As a non-profit organization, PCRA is a national government agency engaged in promoting energy efficiency in various sectors of the economy. It helps the government in proposing policies and strategies for petroleum conservation, aimed at reducing excessive dependence of the country on oil requirement. Over the years, PCRA has enlarged its role in improving productivity in use of various sources of energy.
PCRA undertakes studies to identify the potential and to make recommendations for achieving conservation of petroleum products in various sectors of the economy. It sponsors R&D activities for the development of fuel-efficient equipment/devices and organizes multi-media campaigns for creating mass awareness for the conservation of petroleum products. Fuel oil utilization studies, energy audits, introduction of equipment bank concept, use of energy vans, development of oil consumption norms, model depot projects, driver training programs, workshops/exhibitions, consumer meets, education films/TV spots, hoarding/electronic display, distribution of printed literature, R&D projects are other activities.
PCRA aims at making oil conservation a national movement. As part of its mandate, PCRA is entrusted with the task of creating awareness amongst the masses about the importance, methods and benefits of conserving petroleum products & emission reduction,

PCRA seeks to get its mascot developed which will increase the recognition of its brand, better identify with its target base and help people relate with it. While designing the mascot, the following points need to be given due consideration.
PCRA’s organization values:
The core values need to be reflected in the mascot.
PCRA’s colors:
When people see the mascot they should immediately be thinking about PCRA’s core concerns about saving fuel and better environment.
What should the mascot be?
Generally speaking, there are three types of mascots:
Humans
Inanimate objects
Animals
The mascot can be represented in any form.
Concept design:
The mascot should be injected with an element of fun; it should be memorable, relatable and build awareness about objectives of the organization.
The mascot needs to be unique:
It is imperative that the mascot design is completely unique and builds rapport with the wider target audience which includes school going children, housewives, vehicle owners, commercial vehicle drivers, industries and farmers among others.
The mascot should represent the following themes:
Primary Theme: Fuel Conservation
Secondary Theme which runs concurrent to the primary theme:
Cleaner Fuel
Environmental Protection

1. This mascot here is shaped like an inverse oil droplet which represents saving of oil fuel
2.Further, this mascot is presented to be an oil-genie who grants us fuel and fulfill our desire to use petroleum. BUT WE DO HAVE ONLY LIMITED WISHES hence we need to efficiently use the fuel.
3.This genie is wearing the colors of INDIA

mascot 1: "save fuel save earth". as of the present consumption of fuel is on top speed, there is an need for the people to understand the value of fuel.
mascot 2: "PCRA" can be better recognized by "the oil bank"
I try to give it only two color, unfortunately I came to know it yesterday only. It is a monkey symbol of life, with coal or fosil layer with close eye keeping drop of oil in pot.
I have a color one of this same image. Thanks..

In the mascot design I have shown a drop of fuel (nick named as Mr Fyool) which represents all the fuels on earth. For the mascot I have shown very skinny arms and legs showing that the fuel itself is helpless and hence it is asking for Help shouting ‘Mujhe Bachao’! I have shown a placard in the right hand of the mascot with the writing as shown on the placard. This gives a message to the public to conserve fuels and use them efficiently in order to keep the environment safe and clean.
