The Indian Census has a rich tradition and enjoys the reputation of being one of the best in the world. The first Census in India was conducted in the year 1872 non-synchronously. In the year 1881, a Census was taken for the entire country simultaneously. Since then, Census has been conducted once in every ten years, without a break despite several adversities like wars, epidemics, natural calamities, political unrest, etc. The last census was conducted in 2011 and the next round of census, which would be the 16th census in the country and the 8th since Independence, is due in 2021.
In order to celebrate this decennial event, we invite the creative minds of India to design a mascot for “Census 2021” and be a part of this celebration.
Last date of submission is 19th September 2019.
Prize: The winning entry will be the official Mascot for the Census 2021 of India and will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.50,000/-.
