Municipal Corporation Jalandhar invites all residents of Jalandhar to participate in the Essay Competition for Smart City Jalandhar and contribute in the development of Smart City Jalandhar

Topic: To be a part of the Essay Writing Competition, participants should submit an essay of 1000 words in Punjabi, Hindi or English. The topics for the essay are:

o Hindi: Mere sapno ka Jalandhar
o English: Jalandhar of my dreams
o Punjabi: Mere Supnayan da Jalandhar

Template or format of Essay: The essay needs to be in the following format:

o What is your Vision for Jalandhar as a Smart City? (Maximum 15 words)
o What are the measures that can be adopted to boost economy of Jalandhar (Maxium 150 Words)
o What are the main area specific problems and what smart solutions you want to recommend? (Maximum 200 words)
o What are the main Pan City problems and what pan city based smart solution do you recommend? (Maximum 300 words)
o Any global/best practices which can be implemented/replicated in Jalandhar? (Maximum 200 words)
o How will you contribute to your city as a Smart Citizen? (Maximum 100 words)

Prize

The winners of the competition will be awarded with the following prizes:

o First Prize: The winner of the First prize will get Rs. 25,000 as prize money.
o Second Prize: Rs. 15,000 will be given to the winner of the Second Prize.
o Third Prize: Rs. 10,000 will be given to the winner of Third Prize.
o Consolation Prize: Consolation prize of Rs. 500 will be offered to the 50 best entries.

Submission

The applicants should submit their entries in PDF format on My Gov Portal by 11th November, 2015.

o The participants should mention the following details clearly in their essay:

4. Age
5. Contact number

• Participants are requested to stick to the number of words prescribed
• The decision of Municipal Corporation of Jalandhar on selection of winners and prize shall be treated as final. No copying will be allowed.
• It will be assumed that whoever is participating in the essay has fully understood the general information and terms-conditions given hereby.
• Municipal Corporation of Jalandhar reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the competition and/or the terms/condition without notice.
• Selection of the winners will be on the basis of the brevity, originality of the content and ideas and implementable & bankable action points
