Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi launched the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) in Mysuru, India on 9 April 2023 at an event commemorating 50 years of Project Tiger in India, to create a global movement for enhancing the conservation of seven big cat species, viz. tiger, lion, leopard, snow leopard, cheetah, jaguar, and puma.
IBCA will strengthen global cooperation and mobilize financial and technical resources to support the entire ecosystem associated with the conservation of these species and their habitats. It will serve as an evolving platform for convergence of knowledge and best practices, supporting existing specific inter-governmental platforms, while also providing direct support to recovery efforts in potential range habitats.
In this regard, IBCA is organizing a ‘Logo Competition’ where we are inviting citizens to show their creativity and create a suitable Logo that can be easily relatable to the concept of this important global initiative and reinforce the message of big cat conservation as a vital part of our larger efforts to restore and revive natural ecosystems and biodiversity.
The logo aims to establish a powerful and recognizable visual identity. It should succinctly convey the IBCA’s mission of protecting and preserving big cat species and their habitats. It should evoke empathy and inspire action among the audience, fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature. It will also help build trust and credibility, attracting supporters, donors, and partners to join the cause. Additionally, the logo should be versatile and scalable, ensuring it can be effectively used across various media and promotional materials, further amplifying the organization's message and impact.
