The e-Greetings portal (https://egreetings.india.gov.in/) aims to promote a contemporary and eco-friendly means of sharing greetings by citizens, Government officials and organisations to colleagues and friends for gazetted National Holidays and other occasions. The portal allows users to select and send greetings from multiple occasion-specific templates.

Government Departments can also customize the greetings by adding tag-lines and messages related to their programmes and schemes. Registered members of MyGov too can login with their MyGov username and password and send e-greetings on different occasions.

The portal now aims to introduce a unique feature for users to send e-greetings on various personal occasions. Citizens are invited to design e-greetings templates on the following themes:

1. Birthdays
2. Congratulatory greetings for success in career

4. Get Well Soon

The top 3 designs for each of the above 4 categories will be awarded a cash prize as under:

My e-greetings design for 'congratulatory greetings for success in career' portrays two pictures with a congratulatory message. The first shows a person who has walked a long way, showing the arduous journey he has undertaken on the career path to get a taste of success while the second picture portrays the road that lies ahead, with huge mountains at the end, signifying the sender's good wishes towards a fulfilling career and wishing that the reciever's success may be as high as the mountains.

My e-greetings design for 'get well soon' shows a picture of a recuperating patient, his face lights up when he sees the flowers and the 'get well soon' greetings he has just received. The tagline says'the world is an infinitely better place with you around' conveying the importance you attach to him being around you and others, thereby motivating him to 'get well soon'. After all, we all have the potential to heal ourselves with a positive attitude and motivation.

My e-greeting design for 'birthdays' illustrates two pictures of the sun. The first one shows a setting sun, representing the year gone by while the second photo is that of a sunrise, representing the year that awaits us. The message is clear, forget the past, leave your baggage of grudges and fears, look forward to the year that is in front of you. Since you were born on this day, you once again have the opportunity to transform yourself and become a new and better human being.
