National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur (i.e. NIT Jamshedpur) invites creative designers, artists and innovators to participate in the Logo Design Contest for NIT Jamshedpur. The logo should depict the legacy, history, regional significance, ethos, mission & vision of the Institute.
The Institute traces its origins to the 2nd five year plan (1956-1961) which focused on the development of the public sector and rapid industrialization. The institute was established on 15th August, 1960 as Regional Institute of technology Jamshedpur (RIT Jamshedpur) as a Joint Venture between the Govt. of India and Govt. of Bihar (undivided) in the chain of Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) in India with aim to generate technical graduates of highest standars who could provide technological leadership to the region. It was among the first RECs to be established and only REC to be named as RIT.
The Institute was upgraded to the status of NIT w.e.f. 27th December, 2002 with the status of a Deemed University by the Govt. of India. Consequently, the Institute was given the status of the Institute of National Importance through an Act of the Parliament i.e. NIT Act, 2007.
Further details in respect of the Institute may be seen at the website www.nitjsr.ac.in
The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-

The Design concept, created here have the following factors that nurtured it throughout the brainstorming process:
Minimalism
Scalability
Modern trends
Ethics
Inspiration
Brainstorming with basic abstract shapes & aligning & reorienting them to create an extraordinary depiction of initials of NIT Jamshedpur is the core idea. Introducing and clipping the final form as a shield to provide it a retro & conventional form factor.
Been the final year student (MCA) of NIT of Jamshedpur I understand the NIT culture and tradition deeply.
I have use the color that revolts the new and innovative think of young minds and also reflects the Jamshedpur city. The industrial thing where added.
