The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected through a competitive process for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). In the next phase, our city has to compete with 98 other cities to make it to the top 20 to be taken up for first round of funding, for year 2015-16. The city is in process of formulating a vision, mission and a proposal in consultation with citizens and other stakeholders. We want to hear from you about your needs and aspirations to make Ludhiana a Smart City.

“Ludhiana- Jiven Main Vekhan or My Vision for Ludhiana” –A vision Competition

• The question you need to answer is “What is your vision for Ludhiana smart city”?
• Maximum word limit – 50 words.

The competition shall be closed on 1st November, 2015.

The best 3 Vision Statements would be declared as winners.

Prize Money (Cash / Vouchers / Gift items):

• 1st Prize: INR 15,000/-
• 2nd Prize: INR 10,000/-
• 3rd Prize: INR 5,000/-
• Consolation Prizes (25 nos.): INR 1,000/- each

How to Submit

All the entries must be submitted in the space provided.

Terms and Conditions

All participants must clearly state the following details with their entries:

• Full Name
• Father’s Name
• Mother’s Name
• Address
• Age
• Contact number (with area code)

The participants can respond in English or Punjabi. The winner will be chosen on the basis of originality in content, innovation in ideas that are grounded in reality. The decision of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation on selection of top three winners and consolation prize winners shall be final. City official can participate in the competition but will not be eligible for rewards.

Ludhiana to be a smart city should have 1. Traffic situations warned in advance via dedicated app designed by the city to save from being stuck in traffic jams(which is a case here ALWAYS) 2.TRAFFIC CAMERAS being setup at every traffic light and at bus stop to check eve teasing 3.dashboard cam and portable cameras for police 4.a dedicated day for garbage disposal • GURJOT SAHOTA

A smart Ludhiana,in my vision, is an urban center where not only the infrastructure but even the citizens are smart.Every structure, be it for water, transportation or energy, is reliable,green and efficient. The learning temples of the city-schools-are also advanced increasing the competitiveness of the city.

To make ludhiana my visionary city the following steps should be taken:
Use the reverse osmossis technique to purify the 'buddha nala'
Make strict rules for pollution check of cars as well as industries
Reduce the retirement age of police men because young are active and catch the violators quickly
Provide techniques for yhe safety of the women in the city
Security should be arranged by the government for each area which is very strict.

My vision for ludhiana includes :
Greener city
No corruption
Better traffic control
24 hr electricity
Free of stray animals
No encrochment
Better security for women and children
Better sewerage system
Proper roads
Proper utilisation of money given by government
Peoples rule not the rule of the police or D.C.
Less pollution
More playgrounds
Proper servicing of government property

Most importently

TO REMOVE THE TITLE OF ONE OF THE MOST POLLUTED CITIES OF THE WORLD.

Ludhiana is a city with great endeavour, what it needs is direction to move to. The air and water resources are highly polluted due to inadequate waste management. A part of the population of the city is uneducated which contributes to the narrow mindedness of the people. Areas of recreation are minimal and not in good condition.
