Kakinada city is the headquarters of East Godavari District.It is one of the fastest developing cities in Andhra Pradesh with a population of 3,25,985 (as per 2011 census). It is the 4th largest city by area and 7th largest by population in Andhra Pradesh. Kakinada over’s an area of 31.69 sq.km. It is located at 16.930N 82.220E.The 82-degrees east longitude passes through the city. Population Density within the city is 10,287(as per 2011 census). Kakinada has a tropical savanna climate with hot, humid weather most of the year. The average annual rainfall in the area is 1186 mm. Kakinada is the base for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s Eastern Offshore Asset. According to 2011 census, literacy rate of the city is 81%.Kakinada city has a diversified economic base. The pillars of the city’s economy are ports, marine, education, tourism, administration and trade, and commerce and industrial sectors.

2. Lighting poles, electric poles, transformers cause a traffic hindrances so they have to be replaced or made under ground
3. Hawking has to be restricted, they cause congestion on the roads
4. Proper traffic management should be there near the bala cheruvu junction
Suggestions for the Main Road, Kakinada
1. One way road is recommended to be made two way, as this will reduce the nuisance of the people not obeying the traffic rules
2. Seating benches are not there anywhere on the road
3. Dustbins to be provided
4. Parking to be improved
5. Electric poles obstruct near the narrow road widths, hence they have to be replaced
6. Underground proposal of the utilities is an answer for this issue.
