To celebrate and further drive the remarkable progress India has made in nurturing a spirit of innovation and creativity among school students, the Atal Innovation Mission is celebrating Mega Tinkering Day on August 12, 2025. This nationwide initiative aims to highlight the growing impact of Atal Tinkering Labs in empowering young minds through hands-on learning and technological exploration. Mega Tinkering Day aims to bring together all 10,000 Atal Tinkering Lab schools and associated stakeholders, reinforcing the vision of making “Tinkering” and innovation a nationwide movement. It is a one-day nationwide event where all 10,000 ATLs come together to build a Do-It-Yourself project simultaneously for 1 hour.
The objectives of the Mega Tinkering Day are-
1.Promote Innovation Spirit among students
2.Build a simple Tinkering Project together in a group
3.Be a part of India’s Largest Tinkering Event
Activity
Schools from across the country, along with their students, ATL in-charges, principals, mentors, AIM team, and partners, will participate in the event virtually from their respective ATLs. In this event, participating students all across India will build an innovative project together in one of the largest ever global tinkering events done collectively in a single day. During this event, all ATLs across India will build a small tinkering project together for 1 hour.
