The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected through a competitive process for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). In the next phase, our city has to compete with 98 other cities to make it to the top 20 to be taken up for first round of funding, for year 2015-16.

The city needs to formulate a vision, mission and a proposal in consultation with citizens and other stakeholders. We urge you to share your ideas and be an integral part of the journey towards making Vizag a smart city!

“My Visakhapatnam of Tomorrow” – A vision Competition

• The question you need to answer is “What is your vision for Vizag smart city”?
• Maximum word limit – 100 words.

The best 3 Vision Statements would be declared as winners.

The competition shall be closed on 1st November, 2015.

Prize Money (Cash / Vouchers / Gift items):

• 1st Prize: INR 10,000/-
• 2nd Prize: INR 6,000/-
• 3rd Prize: INR 4,000/-
• Consolation Prizes (25 nos.): INR 1,000/- each

All the entries must be submitted online through https://mygov.in.

1. All participants must clearly mention following details in their entries:

• Name
• Mother’s Name
• Father’s Name
• Address
• Age
• Contact number (with area code)

2. The winner will be chosen on the basis of simplicity of thought, realism in ideas, and originality in content.

3. The decision of GVMC on selection of top three winners and consolation prize winners shall be final. GVMC officials can participate in the competition but will not be eligible for rewards.

All Hills & hillocks should be protected without encroachments for habitation.
All roads must have drainage on both sides.
Road side Drinages must have grill type covers.
The rail bridge at Convent junction must be redesigned, increasing the height.
The present faulty designed Aseelmetta fly over did not give results. Care to be taken in designing the proposed flyovers at various places.
Pollution due to Port & Industries must be dealt.
Governance to be corrupt free.

The citizens should be made know the responsibilities for cleanliness of their surroundings, traffic sense, garbage dispose, maintenance of their vehicles from pollution. The should voluntarily learn and educate others. Govt should extend every support I this area.

To protect existing trees & plant new trees in a planed way.
Instruct to the concern staff to switch-off street light in Day time throughout the Vizag .To develop the system to Run public vehicles. To maintain CC camera in all Important places and monitor accordingly. Moreover, to Educate / Campaign peoples towards Not to throw any waste materials into the ROAD, Drainages.Use Toilet / Latrine instead of use public places,Help Travelers. Road Map should be maintain in all the Tourist Spot
