The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is celebrating World Heritage Week 2025 from 19th Nov to 25th November, as every year. As part of the celebrations, ASI in collaboration with MyGov invites citizens to participate in a National Photography Contest and encourage them to showcase India’s cultural heritage.
We encourage the heritage lovers from across the country to capture the essence of India’s rich cultural legacy. From ancient monuments and majestic forts to delicate carvings and stunning landscapes - every frame holds a story waiting to be told.
This National Photography Contest is your opportunity to translate heritage into powerful visual storytelling.
Themes for the Contest
a) India Through my Lens – Photos of ASI-Protected monuments/sites
b) Virasat Ke Rang: Iss Matti Ke Ang – Photographs reflecting intangible heritage/cultural practices/ events associated with ASI monuments
Participation Guidelines
1. Each participant is permitted only one entry per theme.
2. File format should be Jpeg
3. Resolution should be minimum 300 DPI. Sharp, clear and high resolution images.
4. Basic color correction and cropping are permissible
5. AI-generated, stock, watermarked, or heavily edited images are not allowed.
Guidelines for Clicking Pictures at ASI Monuments
1. Use of Tripods and any type of lighting equipment, without the site permission, is strictly prohibited at ASI-protected monuments.
2. Participants can click photographs only with handheld cameras and mobile phones.
