Plastic package discard is a major cause for pollution creation and pollution magnification.Place at least 10%additional tax on plastic packed products such as water food items oil .

1. Increase the cost of municipal water supply costs to industrial corporation and in return give them subsidy if they are ready to treat their own sewage for reuse. 2. Give them subsidy for making their setup more energy efficient( interms of flare discharge, waste management etc) savings against subsidy a. fresh water supplies to industry can be reduced to make them available for drinking b. less pollution generation means less spending for control

Probably we have enough of statutory provisions but implementation is very poor. Get rid of Govt. backed Project Management firm most of the time responsible for delay of extremely important project. I consider them a firm with zero liability clause on time bound completion. Decision making at these places are slow paced and their survival is due to honorary awarding of projects by GoI,

Make third party auditing of pollution clearance as a mandatory norm, something similar to ISO environment certification. And keep these certifying agencies accountable by seeking periodic reporting through environment ministry.

The current CPCB norms for pollution control is not accurate and appropriate. Add mandatory for effluent color, and oil and greasse norms in additon.

1. The whole river including 5 kilometer of both side should be declared as Holy Ganga zone 2. Using plastic or any non-biodegradable substance should be declared as punishable offence in this zone 3. Separate banks / chambers for religious rituals, water will go to Ganga only after filtration 4. Heavy plantation on the banks. 5. No urbanization up-to at least 5 KM of the bank. 6. Using petroleum based vheicle should be banned totally in this zone

A few of the norms and Regulations that can help: 1. Industries/Factories within 300 mts from the river bed: Compulsory Relocation of these units and takeover of this land by Govt. for developing natural vegetation (forest, grassland). 2. Detection of Industrial Outage to River/River-bed: Cast heavy fines on the unit, and imprisonment of the administration of this unit. 3. Industries near to River basin: Compulsory quarterly activities related to river-purification from the employees, in turns
