The major reason for traffic jams in India is poor management of traffic signals. In my solution, in each traffic signal, innovative technologies like RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) and GPS will be used for getting the count of vehicles to different directions. Based on this data , the duration of traffic signals will be adjusted. So the current system of fixed traffic light duration can be replaced with dynamic timings which would be based on the real time traffic information collected.

City roads should have traffic advisory Sign boards every 2-3 KM's which will flash traffic advisory information and will guide people to take another route. Dedicated traffic advisory FM service can also be started. Buses must be world class with AC service. For Security Every bus should be equipped with GPS and Video cam and a button to connect to emergency response team. There should be realtime SMS service which will accept stop/route number as input and let people know bus arrival time.

The solutions are one of the followings or all of them 1. Giving some discount in bus fare for the peoples who travels in bus though they owned three or four wheelers. 2.For example, if a particular area or station is there with some population, then who should ask the people to give their office in and out time so that we can arrange the bus at the same time daily. So it will be fixed, hence less traffic jam is expected in that route.Same can be followed for all the areas.

Answer : "Limiting Fuel per Car" : The main cause of traffic in smart cities is the rapidly increasing no. of Car. Now we can limit fuel provided to a vehicle such as they can use only 10 or 15 litre a month which will encourage them to use public transport and save fuel for any emergency this will lead to a less no. of cars on the road solving traffic problems to a extent. Apart from this once in a month campaign like "No Car Day" can be organized by the local government body.

Penalty for Traffic rule violation is not only solution, we must name & shame those violators in regional TV/Media. No money fine by traffic cops but notice to be send to violators. Special Apps to be designed to file penalty on the spot by traffic cops.Indication for vehicular congestion on any traffic signal to be displayed before previous turns/signals so that commuters can make way for any alternate route if available to them. CCTVs to be provided on every signals to identify violators.1/2

BEST bus drivers are rash. 95 percent of vehicle goers will agree to it. Some rule which makes them equally responsible for accidents caused by thrm. buses stop in between due to faults, non servicing putting whole western express traffic in jitters. GPS should be installed in each and every best buses so that people can chck wherr the bus has reached and hence plan their trip
