3. How can travelling by bus in your city become safer & more comfortable with use of innovative technologies and smart solutions? Soltn- Like in America, tracking schedule of oncoming buses via an App would be hugely beneficial. Public Bus service having an App tracking arrival-departure-routes with bus numbers will be hugely beneficial and comforting for passengers. Safety in buses can be ensured with an emergency button- below/back of every seat - wired to a police tracing network system

d. Preference must always be given to bus users especially in high trip generating places like commercial areas. This can be done by introducing congestion charges and steep parking charges. e. Car Pooling must be promoted as it carries more people than a car and less people than a bus, thereby reducing no. of vehicles on the road and also reducing pollution

Solution 2 2.One motorcar carries 4 people comfortably; one public bus carries 40 people comfortably. How can a smart city balance the needs of the car and the bus? Solution - By creating Subways & MetroRails running on many lines, traffic load can be reduced. This will not only decongest traffic but also reduce air pollution. As for Bus service, color lined bus service routes arriving in time bound manner at frequent intervals of 5min would prevent overloading of buses.
