How can the latest advances in digital technologies, including use of mobile phones, big data analytics and other information technology solutions be deployed in Smart Cities. The entries may be in descriptive answer types and may use pictures or videos to explain the answers better.
All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
Questions
1. List three municipal services that can be improved with the use of a mobile phone.
2. Describe 3 aspects of your daily life that have improved with the use of the mobile phone.
3. Suggest 5 ways in which the use of big data can make Indian cities into smart cities.
4. Mention 3 new ways that information technology can improve Governance.
5. How can access to information and data make our public spaces safe and secure?
Entry Deadline
• Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015.
Evaluation
The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Do-ability (50%)
• Innovation (50%)
Award
Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts:
Rs. 40,000 - First Prize
Rs. 25,000 - Second Prize

The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot

• All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
• The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only.
• The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less.

Why dont we use It to collect the information of all nri and their family , occupation and their criminal records with abroad govt so no nri can cheat and commit fraud in india mainly crimes inlcuding nri marrying indian girl ti cheat her family for dowry sytem will be reduced by this initiative. So NRI verification database should be maintained.

(a) 3 facilitation already--rail tickets, traffic navigation, online admissions (b) 5 ways big data can help -- and skill profile, energy potential of area, flora and fauna of area, geological and seismic profile, food consumption pattern (c) 3 municipal services which can be helped--central primary school admissions, water supply, sanitation (d) 3 ways improved governance--end employee-citizen interface, end discretion, include timelines in govt work (e) mass education of people necessary
