Providing a digital identity to all individuals is crucial to facilitate electronic authentication for delivery of online public services. The digital identity must be unique, lifelong, online and authenticable. The digital identity should be easily verifiable in an online and cost-effective way. Aadhaar provides such a digital identity that also serves as a proof of identity and address for individuals. If such a digital identity could be linked to mobile phones in a secure manner, it would make the task of online authentication much easier at the level of the individual. As the penetration of mobile phones is high, this digital identity will facilitate the delivery of online services more easily.

\

Ideas and suggestions are welcome on how mobile phones and digital identity could be linked so that mobile phones can be used as instruments for online electronic authentication of individuals’ identities. The suggestions may include technical architecture and solutions, policy guidelines, process improvements, implementation mechanisms, cost effectiveness, operational efficiency, etc. You can upload your ideas in doc or pdf format.

This can be made possible in a two ways. First, for a smart phone users, we should develop a free registered apps totally focused on identification and authentication, Here users will provide his/her personal information with one unique identification no.(voter id no, aadhar no, pan no,DL no) compulsory. Second, for normal phone we can go with maintaining database of mobile phone IMEI no.This can be treated as its personal identification no. by following proper verification steps made by that no.

It is a good idea to have mobile number as digital identity because penetration of mobile phone is more than landline phone.Govt. has to do some pilot study because some people may not be having the cell phone then provide them free of cost SIM with free incoming facility as prepaid connection,If in some rural family only one member is enough for a family of few member then mapping of one member unique identity is to be done with other members, person with many numbers then first number unique

IMEI No. of a Mobile and the SIM (s) No. used in the Mobile can be linked with the unique identification number of aadhar card. We can easily authenticate a person by matching the Identity given while buying a mobile or SIM Card with the details of Aadhar.

In providing unique identification identity govt. has to provide new sim cards for the people without changing there mobile number in that special sim acts as normal sim card but it will also contain information of the indiviual which was provided by him as in adhaar card there will be a unique password provided to him that can be use when he has to provide that information online and if mob. get lost then that individual can wipe out all the info from the internet by using that unique pswd.

Linking mobile phone with id is no doubt a nice idea. What we can do is to allot a AADHAR CARD no to each phone (to prevent any duplicacy)and use NFC technology in phone. Each phone will have its own no linked to NFC which can be used as identity. We can further add voice sample to the identity and even walking pattern(every person has a difderent walking pattern). The encoded information could be brodcasted to readable machines via NFC
