Providing a digital identity to all individuals is crucial to facilitate electronic authentication for delivery of online public services. The digital identity must be unique, lifelong, online and authenticable. The digital identity should be easily verifiable in an online and cost-effective way. Aadhaar provides such a digital identity that also serves as a proof of identity and address for individuals. If such a digital identity could be linked to mobile phones in a secure manner, it would make the task of online authentication much easier at the level of the individual. As the penetration of mobile phones is high, this digital identity will facilitate the delivery of online services more easily.

\

Ideas and suggestions are welcome on how mobile phones and digital identity could be linked so that mobile phones can be used as instruments for online electronic authentication of individuals’ identities. The suggestions may include technical architecture and solutions, policy guidelines, process improvements, implementation mechanisms, cost effectiveness, operational efficiency, etc. You can upload your ideas in doc or pdf format.

I dont feel Mobile phones is a good option, well People tend to change their contacts with time. But there is alternate solution, we can use finger prints. Which govt has already taken from us via aadhar card making process. GOvt can have total database of Indian citizen and his/her account can be recoganised by their finger print. Lets take example of ration. Instead of ration card he places his finger in detector and it gives all the monthly purchase of the person for the month from ration.

using mobile as a digital identity may not yield purposeful result as the case of duplication looms large and it is tedious task, i believe using ATM card as all in one digital identity recognition card will serve better purpose because the data recognition of the user is secured and less cumber some and properly managed than mobile which is less encrypted and open.

Digital means making the things easier for user. Now biggest challenge is that how can we make it safer because every individual has it's privacy. The info or data about particular should be put in a system like any unwanted person can't access the same. But it should be avl to all sections of people ii.e poor people dosn't use smart phones.Maybe using JAVA -J2ME. It should be equitable for all.

there should be a code number which may be embedded with the IC of each mobile phone by the telecommunication service provider , each individual will have that unique code and it should be be registered with a national digital identity confirmation website. Thus it may work like a digital identity, and also for the nation security to prohibit illegal activities.
