the present set of rules to prevent carrying of inflammable materials in train is adequate. but what is inadequate is its implementation. it is difficult to check each compartment for presence of inflammable materials. so what is needed is (i)restriction at entry points i.e. stations, (ii)strict(rather sincere) supervision, (iii)tough punitive action and (iv)awareness of passengers(not of the rule, but the punitive action if the rule is violated).

Do not carry Kerosene, Gas or Stove cylinders, petro, and diesel in rail compartments, which is also punishable. Please avoid smoking. Please detach coaches where side berths are 3.

All major long distance passenger train halting stations should be made like airport checkpoints. Proper checking of people as well as luggage should be done at all entry points. Also railway police should be increased in numbers in the running train, to deal with any untoward incident.
