Alternative : We can have a system where no contractor is involved in between, let villagers prepare the mid-day meal. Government will pay them directly in there account. There will be two benefits. First, quality of food will be good as it will be prepared by mothers for there kids. Second, source of income for women.Similarly, on these line we can have a system where we can transport these mid-day meals on daily basis to nearby towns.

There are lot of existing policies which can be modified to give gains to localities, examples are as mentioned : Mid- Day Meal : Currently contract is awarded to contractors for providing mid-day meals in villages and we know how bad the condition of food is, on news channels daily we can find stories covering, so many children's affected by eating mid-day meals, and even after all this contractors are earning a good amount out of that.
