Roughly 1% of GDP is spent on higher education as against a target of 1.5%. In the recent years, the state share of expenditure on education has declined as compared to an increase in Central expenditure on education. How can we address the financial resource constraints in higher education?

Colleges and institutions should be made to develop corpus of funds through philanthropic contribution like Rockefeller foundation and their financial model should not be dependent on tuition fee.

Crowd funding is the best idea for an eligible candidate, Who wants to pursue higher education. Besides let the business houses open their own universities for their own requirement. The govt. should only become a channel to arrest local talent from going outside and invite the private sector in India directly to come to colleges for recruitment. Besides create an inventory of the requirements of Industries with the skill breakdown matrix per discipline and update annually.

Kindly don't finance higher education system. Worst part is education loan and free education particularly to Engineering students. That pollutes the entire next generation. Education loan ends at frustration to students and free education ends at producing waste products those who don't the value of education. Instead finance the students to equip them either to get job or give job when they complete course and no margin of community , purely based on skill.

After 12th Std each student would compete through competitive exams in diff field of his choice and select his career. No reservation in school, Education and no reservation in Jobs and for promotion. Only this system will help India to Grow, nothing else.

Time has come to Introduce one Education Policy / system for entire country, common one curriculum from std 1 to 12 same across country. Languages should be only optional. Introduce choice of selection of subject to students at every level of education i.e. pre primary, primary, middle school, high school, higher secondary etc. exam pattern should be same, papers set should be same, books, syllables everything should be same. Education from 1st to 12 th Std should absolutely free to all.

Today education loan for higher studies in abroad lending rate is very high and it seems that Govt is not encouraging students to go out for higher education. If our students take higher quality education in US, UK, Germany and utilize same knowledge for Bharat, it would be great help for country to grow. Therefore Modiji Govt must provide education bank loans for students at low interest rates and encourage students for higher studies.

Our own Cutting Edge Research. Dear sir To do this at least in IIT and IISC for specific branches incentives to Mtech and Phd students should be increased to 30000 and 45000 respectively as in medical field. This would be beneficial as the scenario is 1. Management jobs are paying high. 2. Psu jobs seem to be more lucrative. 3. MS at foreign universities become more lucrative. 4. Students leave Mtech in between as they get job. Thanks & Regards Your admirer

Financing and subsidising PG and Doctorate courses are must since we lack in Research. Financing for UG courses abroad should be stopped, since we are having enough good colleges for UG courses. With skill courses offered from Class VIII followed by Diploma courses would allow the persons to take up jobs and follow higher studies without much financial help.

Though need based financing for higher education is required, the recovery of such loan is also equally important. The present outstanding exceeds Rs. 50000 Crores. The major problem is the mindset of the persons. One way to solve is to mention the loan details in the reverse side of Degree/ Provisional certificate and to give clearance by banks once the loan is cleared.
