Roughly 1% of GDP is spent on higher education as against a target of 1.5%. In the recent years, the state share of expenditure on education has declined as compared to an increase in Central expenditure on education. How can we address the financial resource constraints in higher education?

My opinion is Please make the basic education (up to 12th standard) very cheap or almost free, whether in govt schools or private schools. Let the higher education be very costly, so interested students will go for college education, then we can expect good quality, new innovations etc.. In our country we have the complete opposite system.

SECOND THING IS 1.FIXED THE TAX/CESS ON ALL COMPANY FASHIONABLE AND ELCETRONICS BRANDED PRODUCT AT LEAST 3% FOR HIGHER EDUCATION 2. GIVE THESE MONEY TO ONLY THOSE UNIVERSITIES WHICH SHOW THE INNOVATIVE RESEARCH/IDEA AND BEST RESULT COMPARE TO INTERNATIONAL STANDARD UNIVERSITIES. 3.TOTALLY BAN THOSE UNIVERSITIES WHICH DO NOT FOLLOW STANDARD AND HAVE NO INFRASTRUCTURE.DO NOT GIVE THE TAX PAYER MONEY TO THESE GOVN OR PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES IN ANY CONDITION.

Educational loans at low / no interest shall be made available to the students through banks and it shall be linked to their Aadhaar number. Salary shall be paid when they receive employment through this Aadhaar linked account only and the loan amount shall be recovered from this account. Interest rates can be variable based on the merit of the students, low for brilliant students, to encourage students to perform well.

In return of higher taxes for a prescribed period of time matching the fees required, one should be given full scholarship to anyone who desires. Alternatively one can work for a year at government or social sector in return of full scholarship.

1. Subsidies to the premier institutes like IIT, IIMs should be stopped for financing students education. Students should be facilitated to take loans easily at cheaper rates from public sector banks. 2. At least 3 government medical colleges should be available in every state, to curb the scarcity of Medical professionals in the country.

To encourage bright student NTSE scholarship should be increased manifold. The scholarship amount should meet major expenses of all school college fees ( 100 %) and living expenses and should be increased to at least 7-8000/- per month

Finance in higher education should be increased. Only opening of new IITs and IIMs will not help. We need to build the infrastructure there. The universities including state university should get more funds so that not only science but humanities too get a boost. Th roles of UGC should be monitored regularly if needed funds can be given to the universities directly as it takes huge time from UGC side to disbursed amount.

Education field is became more business , All privates schools are taking too much Fees which is not affordable to common people of India , so many children are not able to complete their study. So govt. should provide financial assistance.
