Roughly 1% of GDP is spent on higher education as against a target of 1.5%. In the recent years, the state share of expenditure on education has declined as compared to an increase in Central expenditure on education. How can we address the financial resource constraints in higher education?

only 1% of GDP is not enough for higher education..it should improve the share first...otherwise how can we make a skill india..so many intrested students has discontinue thier education because of financial problem..so govt should provide financial assitance to those all not only by giving scholarships by also smaa amount of loans at no interest rate...

Religion and caste should not be taken in account for giving scholarships instead merit should be considered.A number of schemes are already there but leakage is very high which should be controlled. It totally depends on the will of student that where he/she is going for higher education. Exams like Toefl should be taken in india to access the real cream and they must be given the scholarships. Some kind of restriction like after obtaining the scholarship the student has to work for india .

Well lot of students go for higher studies and they even crack good universities like mit and Harvard. The only issue being financial assistance. I personaly want that government should encourage more means of scholarship of tuition waiver for students going abroad

Also, there are many barriers to general caste students to gain higher educationdue to caste reservation .Govt.should support those students by their qualities not by caste .Their are many students all over india who cannot achieve their goals due to less money or resevation .All students should be judged with their abilities no reservation.By this students with excellent abilities or from small towns could achieve there goals and our country can become a developed country

Education loan is still no accessible by everyone, specially in rural areas and small towns.Banks use to say to come some other day and the student keep on visiting bank in the hope of getting loan approved, but of no use and finally the deadline is over. Some performance measure criteria is need to be set for bank so that they also take interest in approving the genuine loan request.

Government should provide money and better facilities to students with good or higher percent so that they can achieve their goals.I'm also a student and wants to go for higher education but fees is too high of good coachings .so there are many students who are facing these problems so i think government should help those students by making policies that provide them access to good educational institutions .Government should introduce good coachings or universities like cambridge, oxford in india

I was going through the past trend of brain drain. i found that it is very high. The students who studied in IITs, IIms at the cost of public money use to go outside the country and hardly bring any value to the country. I also want to attract the focus on the data who are joining the premier institutions like IITs, IIMs or others. More than 70% of the students are from good family background. So,govt should give finance for basic education and not for the higher education or check income.

Well, the govt must promote humanities as well as arts on all levels of the education system. It's a fact that India doesn't have universities which provide so good education as compared to universities like the Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, etc which hold world reputation. It stands as a moral responsibility of the govt to introduce certain 100% scholarships for undergraduates who have somehow managed to secure a place in the mentioned universities. And that too for humanities and science as well

it's a matter of surprise that our Govt. doesn't encourage people to likely study in the universities which has been ranked among top 5 or so in the world. The Indian curriculum hardly makes an application so much stronger to enrol in universities like OXFORD, OR CAMBRIDGE. However if someone though follows some other international curriculum and is able to get enrolled, it stands as the moral responsibility of the govt. to provide 100% scholarships at UNDERGRADUATE level as well (for arts& sci)

I strongly believe that if higher education is provided by only Public Universities and Government colleges in India then there is no need of financing it. In some courses, privatization has also affected adversely to the quality of education in India. As far as financing in higher education for study at abroad is concerned, government should formulate a policy which help the deserving candidates. Information of the same is also available from one point of contact.
