Roughly 1% of GDP is spent on higher education as against a target of 1.5%. In the recent years, the state share of expenditure on education has declined as compared to an increase in Central expenditure on education. How can we address the financial resource constraints in higher education?

I think there are many options available to finance higher education. But there are 2 main problems why this issue continues to grow: lack of awareness about scholarship or funding assistance that are already available, and lack of proper assistance in applying for such scholarship. Please take a look at http://www.buddy4study.com/ - I think this can alleviate both these problems of financing education.

Please do not restrict the scholarships to those who have aadhar. My daughter (only girl child) feels ashamed to enroll for aadhar as the data is being collected by foreign linked companies. I fully agree with her. There are many who feel like it. Delink the foreign linked UIDAI and aadhar from scholarships and you will get patriotic children in the forefront. Have a purely governmental system through post offices. Why is the gov particular to give data to foreign linked operators of UIDAI ?

Main problem is reservation system. I think india is only country which is reserved for untalented students and talented students are going abroad for jobs. Very funny. Please leave reservation system. Generals are also human not animals.

I think neccesary change in scollership distribution system . For Ex.today SC and ST reach candidate get max. Scollership and more concession in his higher edu. But poor obc or open candidate not get more scollership and concession in his fees. Due to this reason more obc or open candidate not higher educated. I think u should give more scollership to poor student for higher education. Please i kindly requested to themselve, Think on abovesuggetion.

higher education should be free of cost to poor talented student. Govt should make a public fund to help such student to pursuing higher education. Money should not be barrier to them .

Low fees in unaided colleges and hefty fees in pvt colleges. This is serious disparity for students, especially those who cannot afford. Fees across all colleges should be uniform for same courses-somewhere between the 2. Free or low cost edu is often not valued. Scholarships can be given by univ/colleges based on merit and +ve qualities. For poor,Govt. should provide funds to the poor candidate to bear the fees and other educational expenses. Strongly promote work on campus while you study

Sir, please get the caste system removed from the education sector, especially medicine. Medical students' admission should be based on talent . and not on the basis of the caste they belong to. Last year for AIPMT, the cut off for general was around 20,000; though, for others the cut off reached beyond 1lakh. because of this many students get into a college and become doctors but then they perform illegal treatments & procedures for monetary gain. The deserving students are left behind.

In India..One Important cause of damage of quality in H E is Un-aided/self-financing system, Plz. remove this system from Edu. and stop Modern slavery of Teachers and other staff. Teachers financial equality makes Quality and Quality edu making Real India. A lack of Finnance to un-aided system, died all an-aided teachers everday. save them, save edu and save India..another one day.. The Damaged quality Bomb in edu system is explored one day.. by reason of Finance to un-aided units. Thanks. HRM.

I think our model should be something that is followed in countries like Germany and Finland, I.e. Education must be free and of good quality focussing on equity with quality for all irrespective of class or financial status. This requires us to invest heavily in public funded education, pay teachers well, do periodic evaluations which are subjective and should be school centric, involve community in the school governance, foster both teaching and R&D in universities without neglecting any.
