A large number of tribal people and other forest dwellers derive their source of livelihood from the collection and marketing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) which provides them ...
After assessing the Utility of the forest produce, we have to find the shelf life of the items which will determine how strong is the item and How will it penetrate the market. For example, items like pepper, turmeric, have a longer shelf life. likewise, we have to classify the shelf life of the produce, based on which the value addition will get automatically increase. Moreover, Processing the existing forest produce and storing the same is more important for value addition.
The problem of MFP is similar to other agriculture produce - mainly vegetables and fruits. Those MFP's which have strong demand like kendu patta , sal seeds etc is not an issue but other fast perishable products like Amla , Imli , Jamun which fruits in abundance and some other nuts , gums which are getting depleted are issues to be addressed. First by investing for their sustained yield and then for collection, storage , processing , transportation and marketing. For first the Forest Department
FIRST START FROM SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES AND THEN IN OFFICES.
BECAUSE SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES HAVE BIG GROUNDS SO THEY CAN EASILY PRODUCE MINOR FORESTS.
AND ALSO THE SMALL CHILDREN ONLY MAKE THEIR PARENTS TO GROW PLANTS. BECAUSE THEIR TALK WILL BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT FIRST.
When you want add value to minor forest produce, First determine the use or utility of that item in medicine, daily food, industry etc. Based on the utility, the item gets its popularity. if you look into cashew nut oil used in the motor servicing, you can very well determine the value addition. Likewise, classify the item based on utility, then it is a sure shot for you to get a good market for it.
we live in a digitally affluent world. A majority of individuals are connected to the internet 24 hours a day and carry all their works including shopping for grocery, clothes, accessory etc. on the World Wide Web. We can make an online marketing campaign on social networking sites like facebook to market and sell the tribal produce. A dedicated team must take care of this. I am a social marketing expert and I would like to volunteer for this too. #tribalpeople #MyGov #MyGovVolunteer

On 26-4-15 in his speech Maan Ki baat Respected PM Mr Narendra Damodardas Modi emphasized on MAYLA MATHE PE DHONA (carrying dirt on head). The phrase was headline in each and every NEWS of the day. Is He really concern about this and made provisions of reservation in LOK SABHA, RAJYA SABHA, STATE VIDHAN SABHA, MILITARY etc etc etc ...... Such reservations are in place in other aspects of life.
Respected PM Mr NARENDRA DAMODARDAS MODI SIR do you have explanation or just a speech.
1. Storage facility for produce
2. Direct selling/marketing without middlemen interference
3. Khadi shops can help procuring and selling
Ensure quality standards for the items and focus more on consumables (FMCG) rather than decorative pieces only. Work to create demand in local, state, national and international markets using advertisements. Ensure that the prices are not too cheap - very low prices can damage brand value and do not generate enough income. Tie up with commercial malls to sell through them. Focus on sustainable production and ensure that these activities don't harm the forests themselves by over-exploitation.
Avoid middlemen and provide easy collection centres. Find alternate use of items getting wasted in large quantities like jack fruits/seeds, mangoes/but. Lot of cash crop getting wasted for want of labour like pepper. Clove. System to provide labour or collection. SHG to empower and advise additional facilities eg bee keeping in vegetable gardens
