The stage 2 of the Smart City competition is very crucial as each city’s Smart City Proposal (SCP) is supposed to contain the model chosen, whether retrofitting or redevelopment ...
The main problem in Chandigarh is houses, high rates of property. The solution is vertical growth as the area of chd is limited and there is less spare land.secondly on sake of heritage old govt.buildings and specialy govt. Houses should be reconstructed in verticaly expansion.

I live in near by to chandigarh airport (Raipur Khurd), MC has put a dustbin in our area but still people are used to throw their waste on the road sides, I don’t know why. We cannot blame to uneducated labour class people every time, even I have seen people traveling in cars are also throwing waste in road sides, due to this there are always animals and bad smell every time.
Sometime these animals become cause of accidents as well.
My suggestion for all the states/UT/Capitals of m
In Chandigarh we have some villages such as Badheri, where the conditions are not good because of the people who have rented houses are mostly burgur boys who are not interested in cleanliness. Govt. Should take action against them.
As a student main problem is Bus service, which is not so good. In 2 years I didn't got seat most of the time.
Parking is also an big issue, all cars are parked on the roads. There should be a big parking in every sector where the citizen can park their cars there.

There must be one corner where the vegetable and fruit vendors can sell purpose there goods in the morning and evening and token money can be charged from them for cleanliness of the area. Dust and Kura free image must be on the priority list for making the city smart. For this I have more suggestions which I can give later on.
Provision of Foot Paths for pedestrian:
On most of the roads there is no provision for the pedestrian like sectors between Sector 40-41,15-16,23-24,36-37,41-42 and
Councillors and Sr.Citizens can play big role in keeping there area neat and clean. The Sr. citizens of the area may be given the responsibility of supervision of the cleanliness staff. Payment to the staff employed for the job may be made after the verification by the appointed area supervisor(sr. citizen). Once a week all the cars parked in the street must be taken away in a phased manner to clean the dust pile up under the vehicles. Street vendors may be stopped to enter the streets and there
The image of Chandigarh is of City beautiful, but for the last so many years due to one or the other reason the clean image of the city is for from our thought especially when we visit the southern sectors. Until we are not capable to maintain the sanitation condition of the city, how we can approach towards smart city status. There are few suggestions in my mind which i am giving here under component wise :
Cleanliness: We must aware the people how to maintain cleanliness. For this the

1.Smart city ko saaf rakhne aur garibo ki bhukh mitani hogi jiske liye
(1)-Aesi vyavastha banaye jo har Garibo ko 1 gali saaf karne ki jimmedari
deni hogi jiske badle me unhe us gali ke har ghar se Rs 50 per month roj roti aur
khana, deepawali me 1 jodi kapde dene ki jimmedari aam nagriko ki hogi.
Is tarike se do kaam ek saath ho jayenge keval manavta ke mulyo pe
aur seher ke saath log bhi sahi mayno me smart kehlayenge.
9.Alcohol consumption should be restricted or banned else government should impose extra service taxes on people
who consume alcohol.
