The “Policy on Open APIs for Government of India” has been drafted to encourage formal use of Open APIs in Government Organizations. This policy sets out the Government’s approach on the use of “Open APIs” to promote software interoperability for all e-Governance applications & systems and provide access to data & services for promoting participation of citizens and other stakeholders.

You are requested to provide your inputs on the policy and suggest implementation approach across the government.

Presently the senior citizen age is 60 .What about people nearing 60 ,say 55+. I suggest that a slab system may be thought of to avail various benefits. Maybe 25% concession ( 55- 58 yrs ) 50% for 58-60 yrs..Also people above the age of 70 may have more benefits. Also with aadhar cardsin vogue now,all citizens above the age of 60 may be given subsistence allowance taking bpl value arrived at by the government. All IT assessees and govt. Pensioners and other similar beneficiaries may be excluded.

The policy itself is commendable but the biggest challenge of creating any such standard and making it available universally is the security gaps that such standards may create. As has been shown by numerous cyber attacks from China and Pakistan, the country will be inviting more attacks from unfriendly quarters. It may also compromise safety of its citizens’ privacy but may also expose the government to manipulations by enemies. As a subject-matter expert with 57 patents, I can help offline.

Idea- Generic drugs are cheaper than patented medicines. Sometimes this cost difference is too high. Most of the times, equivalent generic medicines are available but doctors would prescribe patented medicines (costly) sometimes for whatever reason. Idea - Create a online medical dictionary on internet available to everyone that suggests possible generic equivalent of patented medicines with price suggestions so that patient/doctor can make cost efficient decision for patient where-ever suitable

A couple of suggestions regarding this API to be implemented: - Use only completely Free/Open Source Software in the server side implementation. - Provide a JSON as well as an XML interface to the API. - API should only be accessible via HTTPS, with a secure implementation using OAuth, the industry standard for such things. - Open source, and good code examples along with detailed documentation should be provided and placed prominently on government websites.

Idea: Interconnect every hospital's patient record database over internet infrastructure. This facilitate hospital/doctor to access patients previous records/treatments with different hospitals/doctors. This will be a giant step in making medical treatment decisions easy for doctor based on patient history

Moreover the first plane was made by an indian in mumbai in 1896. take effort to bring back old resources
