Help us make Digital Locker better by providing your valuable feedback, comments and suggestions.

Digital Locker is a key initiative under Digital India program. It is an online application that aims at eliminating the use of physical documents and enables sharing of verified electronic documents across various agencies. Digital Locker provides a dedicated personal storage space in the cloud to citizens, linked to citizen’s Aadhaar number. It will enable various organizations registered on Digital Locker to push certificates of citizens directly in their Digital Locker in electronic format. Citizens can also upload and securely store the scanned copies of legacy documents in Digital Locker. These legacy documents can be electronically signed using eSign facility. A citizen can share these electronic certificates online with various departments and agencies registered on Digital Locker while applying for the services provided by them. Thus, Digital Locker brings the citizens, issuers and requestors on one platform and reduces administrative overhead of agencies by eliminating paperwork. It will also make it easy for the residents to receive services by saving time and effort.

If we start thinking from the point that what types of misuses that can be done using E- locker..1st thing is using the document I can open account in others name( identity theft) 2) Just by accessing the login credential- one can access all the details of the individual like date of birth, which school one had studied, address and phone numbers etc..., spouse/ father names etc.. Now, we should focus on to get the robust solution to cover above issues. I shall come back on this latter

THERE SHOULD NOT BE THE OPTION OF PASSWORD TO be rememberred ... ELSE wise there should be option of OTP one time password... AS OTP is the safest way to security..

Instead of asking every citizen to upload the certificates in E-LOCKERS, all the educational institute must be directed to upload authenticated Certificates, mark sheet & other material linked to AADHAR or some other platform. All students MUST be linked to AADHAR and hence forth all the degrees must be linked to it. Similarly other Data can be uploaded by the issuing authorities itself, so it will eliminated need of complicated verification requirement.
