Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is the National Olympic Committee of India and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee. IOA is, inter alia, responsible for the preparation and participation of Indian sportspersons and teams in the Olympic Games as well as in Regional events like Commonwealth and Asian Games. The other responsibilities undertaken by the IOA include deciding the organisation of National Gamesand promoting and developing the Olympic Movement.

National Sports Federations (NSFs) are responsible for promotion and development of specific sports disciplines. Conduct of National championships and participation of Indian sportspersons and teams of a specific sports discipline in World Championships, Asian Championships and Commonwealth Championships, among others, is responsibility of the concerned NSF.

IOA and NSFs are autonomous bodies registered under Societies Registration Act. Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has been insisting with IOA and NSFs to ensure transparency and good governance in their functioning and selection of sportspersons for participation in international tournaments.

India has enough medal winners to chose from to man the posts of sports organisations. Tenures should be short and well spaced. No non-sportsperson should be allowed at the top levels of the organisation.

First sports and games should be made mandatory in every school and college...there are many poor sportsmen for whom there is proper facilities. They should be encouraged.Selections should be take place in order of stages from district to national. The members of sports federations should be experienced sportsman in particular field.

good governance means assigning few aged person who don't even know what the game is,they are there because they were on some high post.why don't you follow the IT industry administration which is totally online every time status can be known and try to hand it over these kind of work to talented people from the sports only.

On 26-4-15 in his speech Maan Ki baat Respected PM Mr Narendra Damodardas Modi emphasized on MAYLA MATHE PE DHONA (carrying dirt on head). The phrase was headline in each and every NEWS of the day. Is He really concern about this and made provisions of reservation in LOK SABHA, RAJYA SABHA, STATE VIDHAN SABHA, MILITARY etc etc etc ...... Such reservations are in place in other aspects of life.
Respected PM Mr NARENDRA DAMODARDAS MODI SIR do you have explanation or just a speech.

The government should introduce an amendment to the Societies Registration Act, 1960. The said amendment should be regarding a special case wherein the Society registered under said Act will be subjected to special provision, if acting on behalf of the nation, or with regards to issues of national interest. Such special provisions should include the fact that said society is to amend its rules and regulations to ensure it is answerable to any and all of its members through the RTI Act, 2005.
