A huge amount of Govt. money is spent on subsidy of petroleum products. The Govt. had to spend Rs. 1,39,869 crore on account of subsidy on petroleum products in the year 2013-14. As, the indigenous availability of crude Oil and LPG is limited, these are imported in huge quantities to fulfill the demand of the country.  As Govt. provides domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene on subsidised price, this results in huge subsidy burden on Govt. Due to presence of dual pricing(subsidized and non-subsidized) in LPG and SKO, there is a diversion of subsidized LPG and Kerosene into commercial usage. Although Govt. has taken several initiatives to reduce this diversion of subsidized LPG and PDS Kerosene, public participation is solicited to suggest ways for reducing diversion in LPG and PDS Kerosene.

You are invited to suggest ideas to reduce diversion and the subsidy burden on account of LPG and Kerosene.

V.Sreenivasa ,Bangalore: Its very easy first remove subsidy on cooking gas, bring cooking gas instead of 14.5kgcylinder to 5kg,10kg,15kg and 20kg cylinders.andkeep the price at Rs250,Rs500,750 and Rs1000 respectively. and give it to open market distribution.it saves lot of man power works, unnecessary documentations and if possible keep same size cylinders for all . and first of of gov. will have huge revenue save and at the same time more number of citizens will start using cooking gas.

Establishment of Sewage treatment plants that can produce Biogas. Biogas is a good alternative and can be generated at much less price reducing the dependence on petroleum products. The link of video below describes use of biogas in sewage treatment plant.

Sir i suggest that there should be Card as for each home in which it should be mentioning about the subsidy cylinder and non subsidy cylinders and according to that supply must be given to each home and there should one connection in 1 home Every gas cylinder moving from factory to the consumer should be bar-coded and can be tracked in real time. Every cylinder dispatched to the distributor should be tracked against a valid booking.by this un nessasery cylinder must get trap and gov money saved.

just like aadhaar card is linked to LPG, aadhaar card to be linked to ration card also. consumers to purchase ration items by paying full value where as subsidy will be credited to their bank account.

1. Not to entertain more than 3 or 4 cylinders per one address. Biggest offenders are eateries in which gas connections are made in the name of poor unemployed employees. 2. Eventually we must have a metered pipe line connection as in Western countries.

with global crude oil prices sharply falling and nearing their expected base of USD 60-65, India should take this opportunity to increase its strategic petroleum / crude reserves which would help in providing both economic and national security during an energy crisis.
