A huge amount of Govt. money is spent on subsidy of petroleum products. The Govt. had to spend Rs. 1,39,869 crore on account of subsidy on petroleum products in the year 2013-14. As, the indigenous availability of crude Oil and LPG is limited, these are imported in huge quantities to fulfill the demand of the country.  As Govt. provides domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene on subsidised price, this results in huge subsidy burden on Govt. Due to presence of dual pricing(subsidized and non-subsidized) in LPG and SKO, there is a diversion of subsidized LPG and Kerosene into commercial usage. Although Govt. has taken several initiatives to reduce this diversion of subsidized LPG and PDS Kerosene, public participation is solicited to suggest ways for reducing diversion in LPG and PDS Kerosene.

You are invited to suggest ideas to reduce diversion and the subsidy burden on account of LPG and Kerosene.

KEROSENE SUBSIDY SHOULD BE TOTALLY STOPPED. LIKE IN DELHI, ALL URBAN AREAS SHOULD CANCEL KEROSENE QUOTAS & GIVE LPG CONNECTIONS. ONLY VERY POOR USE KEROSENE IN CITIES. IN RURAL AREAS, NO ONE USES KEROSENE FOR COOKING – FUELWOOD IS USED. KEROSENE IS USED ONLY FOR LIGHTING WHICH IS VERY UNHEALTHY. GOVT SHOULD INSTEAD GIVE SOLAR LED LIGHTS TO FAMILIES & MANDATE SURRENDER OF SUBSIDIZED KEROSENE. SO, ADULTERATION OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS WILL STOP & COUNTRY WILL SAVE THOUSANDS OF CRORES SUBSIDY.

Oil marketing companies are highly corrupt. There is no accountability, bring in accountability and clean oil marketing companies by removing corrupt officials and then merge BPCL, HPCL & Oil India and run it like a private organization then the petrol, diesel & gas prices will come down. Govt. does not have to pay any subsidy back to these companies Now there is no visibility at all for the pricing of these essential items.

MONTHLY INCREASE OF LPG PRICE BY Rs. 10/- or Rs. 20/- LIKE UPA GOVT POLICY OF INCREASING DIESEL PRICE BY Rs.0.50 MONTHLY WILL MINIMIZE OR WIPE OUT THE SUBSIDY AFTER 2 or 4 YEARS. UPA GOVT DID THIS GREAT THING & NDA GOVT IS REAPING BENEFITS!!! NOW GOVT DOES NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DIESEL. THIS PROCESS CAN GO HAND IN HAND WITH DBT IN BANK ACCOUNTS THRU AADHAR. ALSO, FAMILY WITH MONTHLY INCOME OF MORE THAN Rs. 1 LAC SHOULD NOT GET SUBSIDY. THIS 3-FOLD ACTION WILL GREATLY CUT DOWN GOVT SUBSIDY.

1) give subsidy directly to the customers through bank transfers. 2) understand why is LPG and kerosene being used for commercial purposes. If the use is genuine then either a substitute needs to be created or LPG and kerosene needs to regulated for commercial use, may be at higher price. 3) have competition amongst distributors. A single distribution centre in an area is like monopoly and customer does not choice. The dealer needs to have fear of losing business through market driven fo

Govt cannot meet every ones need. dealers should submit the list of customers to concerned authority. and full cylinders should be issued to customers every 3 months. If someone does not need in 3 months he can give it to other and in return can hire cylinder from others when he needs. basically they should adjust among themselves but govt should fix that every 3 months it will issue 1 cylinder per customer. This will also force customers to restrict excess consumption. This is the best solution

Its simple. In the card a complain number should be available. If someone does not get a cylinder he should call concerned authority and concerned authority should ask the dealer where he has diverted. This will automatically ensure that everyone gets a cylinder and subsequently reduce diversion

Transfer of money in Bank Account may not be fruitful in longer run because people who are in habit of receiving cheap cylinders can be swayed by political vendetta. Cash withdrawal of such subsidy from bank account should have been prohibited and subsidy transferred to consumer rather may be linked to payment to Dealer through Debit card (specific for the purpose) to check actual user account. Mere transfer to bank account may result in misuse of subsidy.

do away with the subsidy it total. i am apprehending that in kolkata where i live lpg from the cylinders is being siphoned off and being sold to the autorickshaws. to make up for the weight the cylinders are refilled with water. the term used is kata gas. this happens with the active collusion of dealers and officials.

To reduce diversion of LPG gas I will suggest to have different colors of Cylinders for Commercial and non-Commercial use. This will help to easily recognize if an establishment is using subsidized or non-subsidized cylinder. People using subsidized LPG cylinder for commercial activity should be penalized with first penalty being at least 5 times the actual non-subsidized cylinder cost. And cylinder distributer should be penalized 10 times the cylinder cost.
