A huge amount of Govt. money is spent on subsidy of petroleum products. The Govt. had to spend Rs. 1,39,869 crore on account of subsidy on petroleum products in the year 2013-14. As, the indigenous availability of crude Oil and LPG is limited, these are imported in huge quantities to fulfill the demand of the country.  As Govt. provides domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene on subsidised price, this results in huge subsidy burden on Govt. Due to presence of dual pricing(subsidized and non-subsidized) in LPG and SKO, there is a diversion of subsidized LPG and Kerosene into commercial usage. Although Govt. has taken several initiatives to reduce this diversion of subsidized LPG and PDS Kerosene, public participation is solicited to suggest ways for reducing diversion in LPG and PDS Kerosene.

You are invited to suggest ideas to reduce diversion and the subsidy burden on account of LPG and Kerosene.

Hitehrto there is no considerable check on the usage of LPG cylinders (domestic) by the vendors on the roads & commercial estts.. They cover the domestic cylinders with gunny bags and use it for their business purposes. For this the local bodies & civil supplies departments have to play a key role to conduct raids & checks on the misuse of the domestic LPG, very frequently. Thus, we can save upto some extent. Further, the subsidy to higher income groups must be stopped forthwith. Regards

At present we have dual pricing system for LPG.we should have one free sale price and one for weaker section. Any quantity should be availed on free sale price. Govt has not made serious efforts for voluntary compliance.for weaker section smaller cylinders of 5 kg can be marketed

The Govt can promote LPG savings domestically. It can approve today the new "Lpg saving cylinder two stage regulator" which gives safety in domestic usage and LPG savings say upto 25 %. This device is manufactured by many manufacturers in India and the Govt to first approve the retrofit device, to fix its price Rs.500 only. The Govt can bring down the annual domestic cylinder quota from 12 to 9 immediately. This will account for Rs.5000 Crores savings pa by this LPG conservation initiative.

I need to adjust.. give IOC and other firms same.. and then C. and don't allow any FG vessel to ply on indian coast.. if indian coast can't offer.. give them loans.. better indian shipping earns than some corporate who gets funding from SBI

cont.. even knows about it. Small users like roadside vendors and small shopkeepers should be encouraged to use these these 5 kg unsubsidized cylinders so that any pilferage can be easily detected but availability should be properly taken care of at the agency level. Some incentive schemes of these unsubsidized cylinders can also be started so that they themselves opt for these cylinders.

cont... have commercial cylinder can buy it right there at the at that time itself and also get proper receipt for that. All the agencies should be made to stock these cylinder all the time at all there outlets and make them freely available like over the counter commodity. You pay and you take it. Also the 5 kg cylinders should be made available at all these agencies and properly advertised to make it popular . Gas agencies today also plead ignorance about these 5 kg cylinders and nobody(2/n
