A huge amount of Govt. money is spent on subsidy of petroleum products. The Govt. had to spend Rs. 1,39,869 crore on account of subsidy on petroleum products in the year 2013-14. As, the indigenous availability of crude Oil and LPG is limited, these are imported in huge quantities to fulfill the demand of the country.  As Govt. provides domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene on subsidised price, this results in huge subsidy burden on Govt. Due to presence of dual pricing(subsidized and non-subsidized) in LPG and SKO, there is a diversion of subsidized LPG and Kerosene into commercial usage. Although Govt. has taken several initiatives to reduce this diversion of subsidized LPG and PDS Kerosene, public participation is solicited to suggest ways for reducing diversion in LPG and PDS Kerosene.

You are invited to suggest ideas to reduce diversion and the subsidy burden on account of LPG and Kerosene.

BIODIESEL from non-edible oils is a sustainable, renewable fuel for tropics. Europe is way ahead of us, we have slept since early 2000. Earlier NDA Govt had recommended Biodiesel and Ethanol mixes; but nothing happened on ground. Priority should be to use available seeds of Papri (Karanj; Pongamia pinnata) from millions of trees all over the country which are wasted today. For Jatropha farming, land-sharks must be weeded out and punished. There are several more minor oils to be used.

Central Government should stop giving Kerosene to State Governments who are misusing them for making money. It can be suppiled through designated fuel dispensing stations at market rates as direct benefit transfer is effected for those who are having ration card Etc. This can also be given to only those who are not having PAN number linked to bank account. PAN is given for those who are having reasonable income. The Benefit should go only to below the poverty line people.

I understand that large amount of subsided kerosene is commercial used in cutting granite stones in Rajasthan with the active collusion of state govt, local MLA, MP and Ministers. Use of Kerosene facilitates quick result as compared to other ingredients. This can easily verified by surprise checks at granite manufactures. I cam across one instance where such diversion amounted to Rs 1 crores of subsidised kerosene per month by bribing officials, local MLA, MP and Minister. There could be many.

A small family of one/two children need max 8-9 gas cylinders per year n remaining r blacked or used in business Big family of 5-10 children howsoever poor, dont deserve any subsidies/free bees. So reduce subsidized cylinders to 9 PA with condition of 1/2 children n low income. Also such information to be updated every year by affidavit of low income/small family from First Class Magistrate or to be sworn in the name of their children/family for declare the truth only in affidavits.

Every LPG Refile should have unique digital magnetic Bar code and bar code must be scanned during the time of delivery of refilled cylinder and receiving of empty cylinder by online GPS devices. If the code of empty cylinder is not matched with the provided filled cylinder then the connection should be terminated for a Year. Problem is exchange of empty cylinders with filled ones and this procedure expedite the false consumption of LPG.
