Waste management is an important requirement for ecologically sustainable development. Efficient sorting of waste is a major issue in today’s society. The main goals of this discussion are to come up with solutions for the following problems using technology as a tool.

1) Reducing waste production
2) Ensuring that wastes are properly disposed
3) Recycling and re-using disposed products

“Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” or the "Clean India Mission" is India's biggest cleanliness campaign that aims to accomplish the vision of "Clean India". Waste management is an integral part of this campaign. To assist the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” initiative, projects may be setup to create products which are solar-powered trash receptacle and trash compactor that alerts sanitation crews of municipal authorities, when it is full.

Also E-Waste (obsolete, discarded, broken and surplus electrical and electronic devices) is of immediate and long term concern as the industry is unregulated and recycling can lead to major environmental degradation posing a major threat to human health.

Internet of Things (IoT) is a new generation technology which allows integration of small devices/gadgets with web based system .The devices send signals through sensors using constraint application protocol (CoAP), Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) etc. and interact with the web-based system using the HTTP protocol, So the existing solution architectures are getting extended.

We would like to welcome your ideas on how a smart waste management system using IoT can be implemented in order to achieve the target of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.

Waste are generated irrespective of our efforts to reduce and hence, we should refrain from using plastics and other non-biodegradable compounds, which are hazardous in nature.

We should to try to recycle the generated waste into useful compounds or items.

If we can reduce the waste strewn about the streets, swachh Bharat would be more achievable. One idea for the same is to line the footpaths with some sensor such that within a certain radius, if anyone throws anything on the road, the sensor gets activated and starts beeping till the thrown object it lifted. Advertise this on TV so people know what to expect when they hear beeping. Do a public Pvt partnership to activate such sensors on footpaths

Honorable Prime Minister sir, Its Quite Prestige to have leader like you with significant focus on almost every sector in focused well being of country as a whole.

We are aware in the swatch bharat Mission at current stage and activities for swatchata are on the go. we need to give hands on segregation of the waste in defined bins in the additional course to get optimum and hazard free consumption of waste in generating energy and other alternative.
hope we start think plan and action on it.

Bbmp had given the task to sweepers to collect garbage all separately from the flats. How long our people would keep or store garbage if  bbmp order to associations bolt to take garbage from homes if they ordered , they must show the copy for verification. This is a crime if they ordered so.
so how our executive is giving wrong information to sweepers now sweepers are doing rebel On the name of Bbmp they are exploiting and cheating  residents

One simple solution could be putting security deposit on certain trash items. People would think twice before discarding it because money is involved. Loads of developed countries have this system. Please check the YouTube link to get an idea.

Plastic is one of the biggest contributor in waste generation. be it thin carry bags, plastic food plates, water bottles, glasses. First and foremost Thin plastic manufacturing itself should be stopped/banned /prohibited.
In place of same people can use cloth carry bags. and just some retail store are providing thin cloth carry bags, same can be used and encouraged to be used on large scale.

Mobile application specified earlier can bridge the gap between reusable and non reusable waste. Further points of supply and demand of specific wastes can be accessible to all governmental, Non Governmental establishments.

Lack of awareness is the sole contributor to the dirt and waste in the surroundings. I would suggest usage of part of swach bharat cess to create a mobile application that can
a. identify waste collection points by corporation personnel
b. identify valuable waste collectors in the locality like vegetable waste. Old news paper etc.
c. identify NGOs who wish to reuse old carpets, dress for charitable purposes.
