Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world railway systems generate 10% to 20% of their revenues from non-tariff sources.

IR typically has focused on increasing revenues through tariff hikes. It wants to change this and challenge the conventional thinking by exploiting new sources of revenue so that every asset, tangible or non-tangible, gets optimally monetized

We invite ideas from citizens on increasing non fare revenue for Indian Railways.

Dear Mantri ji:
I find the car parking fee of Rs.40 at Secunderabad Railway station too high. Seeing off someone at the station costs me minimum Rs.50(Platform ticket: Rs.10 + Parking Rs.40). Railways seem to be enriching parking, food (unhygienicand of horrible quality) and all contractors at the expense of the public.

Still now,Sleeper class people suffer with unrevseved quota people better to provide barcode on tickets and barcode reader on compartment doors,so that people will be more willing to travel, beggars will be restricted .
Now food from pantry car are worst and third parties like KFC, DOMINOS are involving on catering dispatch. If food is hygenic all will order on Pantry.
Regarding safety: Fire alarm should be fitted in all compartment
TIME:delay on timing if ok all ok,Toilet should ok

Am ajeyan .Ground level seat and normal seats .ground level seat side emergency window only.wheel and suspenson system size digress in small size

There is always a scarcity for train tickets for crowded routes. Why can't we increase traffic on those routes with express trains and generate more revenue. There might be some issues, but we would need to work around with those options and generate revenue. Installing solar panels on the railway platforms roofs with provisions to clean it regularly. Need to start thinking out of the box for generating revenues. #NonFareRevenue, #IndianRailways, #Railways

i think ticket sharing ka option hona chahiye price me kami k sath day journy me do logo k liye ek seat kafi hai aur kabhi-2 to seat b alag -2 ho jati hai hum ek hi seat use katre hai.sharing ticket me discount k sath. ticket me mention mobile no. ko social site se add karke same date ,train me fraind ko sms alart karna chahiye.

Needs to hire the more ticket examiner and needs.to cheak every passenger.and through the indstry committing on continous business improvement in areas.like customer service.this plan would increase the revenue.the develoment of logalty schemes has become particular improtant in deregalated markets of choice over a particlaur rout.

Needs to hire the more ticket examiner and needs to check every passenger with tickets. at present we have all infrastructure. so run more trains and make the officers free of control and fix the target to railways officers. Lallu Prasath yathev( x railway minister) he is not an IAS or scientist but he was runned railways profit now it's giving loss. so what is the different why Lallu only the knowledgeable person was that period. so officers needs to be screwed and fix the target to them.
