Increasing non-fare revenue for Indian Railways

Start Date :

Last Date :

Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world ...
1.Maintain Punctuality
2.Local transport for Interchange junctions should be available at Least possible distance from station.
3.City Subways
4.Taking still better care to avoid Train accidents.
Money saved is money earned. Most of the bogies of railway should be fitted with solar panels on top to generate electricity which can be used instantly for the same train. Further, due to speed of the train many wind power generators can be fitted besides the train to get additional energy. Though I am not a technical person to suggest model for the same, this can be suggested by experts in this field.
1) Health centres, Beauty SPAs, Saloons opened
2) Mini theaters and sports facilities
3) Full fledged blood check up and other health including ayurveda, Reiki, Pranic Healing etc.
4) Special outlets by Spices, coffee, Tea other savories
My Suggestions are attached, Thanks and Regards
1) Recycle the massive wastage of iron, concrete sleepers lying in thousands rotting
2) Plant fruit trees and other commercial plants on open spaces of railways
3) Please more trains like From Byappanaali to Whitfield every 30 minutes special trains
4) Build seminar halls, conference rooms and also facility to celebrate marriages, birthdays in Railway stations
Instead of having fixed time table trains, we should run additional trains according to the needs of the routes and passenger. This will provide big relief to the indian public as well as generate lot of revenues for the railways.

Experiment with private renowned business houses like Reliance, TATA ect with some sectors to improve revenue & services, because lot of your revenues goes with corrupt Tender process Specially in Sates like BIHAR ect. Revenue is not a problem....monitoring & corrupt system is the problem. Like railway platforms are still a homes for homeless they should be packed for passengers safety & security. I think 30% of the railway bugdet goes on Railway Stations maintanence..believe it.
If you can attach small generators with the wheels of the coaches we can generate a lot of electrical power when the train moves which we can store in batteries and use as and when needed. Also we can place windmills like small fans with generators on the rooftop of the trains and again can generate a lot of electrical power which can be used in many ways.

Indian railway has one of the biggest traveller audience compare to many other modes. So Advertising is one of the opportunity which is still unleashed at its full for revenue earning. Revenue model similar to DMRC can be implemented in Indian Railway for additional revenue #IndianRailways #NonFareRevenue
Over Train and Over Station:
1) If solar panels can be placed on every train top, you can save considerable money in paying for the power
In train:
1) Bed spread can be outsourced to an advertiser, who can advertise over the bed spread and maintain.
2) Chair Car seat covers can be outsourced to an advertiser.
3) Wifi on the go can be provided by advertisers
4) In train entertainment system like, small television sets with advertisements and news programs can be an avenue for revenue.
