Not sure if one or the other service is already available. 1) Setup a Kiosk / Portal at each post office where in Citizens can Pay any bills. Electricity, Telephone, Mobile, Taxes (Pay using PAN) what not. 2) ATMs. My other idea of setting up ATMs irrespective of Banks can be leveraged using Post Office. 3) Train, Public Transport Reservation. Create special accounts for each Post office and let them reserve train tickets, public transport tickets before 2 days.

Please introduce restricted email logins for indian citizens with mail servers hosted by India Post. Also introduce attractive deposit schemes with interest slightly higher than public sector banks. Block foreign mail websites like gmail and yahoo in India which keeps Indian data in US email servers.

A month ago, I came to know very surprising thing. I told my staff to bring 500 stamps because I needed it for invitation cards. But when he visited post offices, the management said that we only get few hundred stamps a day and we can maximum give 100 to one people and for that too you have be in queue early morning.
And this happened in post office of Mumbai. I mean how can you run any business in Mumbai when you can't sell your product worth 500.
Then I did it with other courier services.

all the po staffs are not well educated in computerised work. all schemes are not also populised . in remote areas computerised po is not available. at ground level, concrete work is not being done, n only reporting is being done.genuine problems are not also addressed by insincere high level officers.

Sir, Rural Post Offices can house Self Operating Savings/Withdrawal ATMs for low cash transactions (including coins) with operational procedures suiting to the illiterate /semi literate. The identification process can use Finger prints or Eye lid recognition. Today self operating bank transactions are not possible for low cash, daily wage earners and illiterate. This can be dovetailed to Hon'ble PM's Jan-Dhan Yojana. Man machine Interface of ATM is to be specially designed for this.
