Considering the fact -postal network is highly networked to each household in Villages-towns-cities. this network should be strengthened & all official Gov. communication to Indian citizens should use epost /mail only
Assign official epostmail id to each citizen using Aaadhar card no@.. or NPR no.
Convert Postbank as corporate bank & Courier service co..
Every citizen must have online post bank account
All citizens must pay IncomeTax through Postbank account only.

lived in Australia for 8 years and during this time was impressed in the manned Australia used its Australia POST (i.e. Australian Post offices). I would strongly recommend Indian delegation in Australia to visit Australia Post location and understand there business model. In India we have Indian Post Offices in major locations and therefore those can be used to provide many facilities other than the regular "Post" facility that is associated with Post offices.

Here are some of the steps that can be taken to utilize the outreach of Post Office :
1) Post office can become the conduit for government document distribution system, wherein people can go and request specific documents such as land deeds, Kisaan ID's, which can be printed and handed over to them in sealed envelopes. In addition the staff can be trained to take applications for Ration cards,PAN Cards etc. These applications can be submitted online or collected on paper and then sent to appropriate agency in the city.
2) As highlighted by many, Indian Postal Service should develop a cell to focus on Courier/Parcel delivery. Since Post Office have wider outreach than courier companies they can offer e-retailers an option to sell stuff in remote places as well. Off course, IPO should guarantee basic level of reliability and service.
3) Post offices can become knowledge centers, wherein they can provide information on Employment Camps, Skill development camps, Health Camps, Knowledge camps etc.

1) Post office should tie up with online shopping website like Flipkart etc to deliver products to villagers. 2) It can also act like an extension of banks who tie up with them, on commission basis, similar to Western Union services providers. 3) It can also act like a authorized e-seva kendra of govt. online services at minimal fees. 4) It can also act like a tourist agent office, were tourist can book their tickets of rail, bus etc
