Have the large network of post office work in shifts. This way, sorting & tagging can happen at local level post working hours and delivery during day time (office hours)
This will make operations faster and help attract ecommerce companies to deliver by post instead of private courier making India post a profitable venture

yes, the existing 1.5 lakh post offices, can be transformed into a network for providing free or subsidised public services to all citizens. But before that, monetary compensation and training for additional work for postal staff should also be contemplated. It is unfortunate, that even after 67 years (60 years of congress), not all 6 lakhs plus villages have post offices.

Personal mails are decreasing as days passes. So there need to be a re orientation regarding the viability of generating revenue. E- commerce is the new way through which post office can earn huge profit by delivering their consignments in precise time. As the reach of postal network spreads throughout the nation it will be helpful for the e retailers. Get into good deals with them and provide necessary manpower and software facilities for better delivery, tracking.Postal drones are nt a dream!

Post office is good for the profit. The system is not precise for profit. Gov, should replace post ticket with digital ticket which directly print on envelop. Gov. should start first class, priority mail and one day business mail. All these must be possible to tack. If private companies like Fedex, Dhl can transport mail within 3 days in world's any part, can indian government not make such appropriate steps for secure and fast delivery? Customers never ask price of service, they demand quality.
