In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

And also on June 21, the Google doodle was that of Father's Day..Why couldn't we insist on Google to make Yoga Doodle for that day..In that way, it would have reached more people and many could have been diverted from celebrating that unnecessary foreign day. At least in the future if such a situation arises, let us make it a point that Google displays Indian doodles which should be given highest priority.

Good evening , June 21,Yoga Day, was also Music Day and Father's Day. Music day is acceptable, but this Father's Day, like the Mother's Day is of foreign origin.I strongly believe that there is no point in specially remembering our parents on a particular day. Because according to Hindu Dharma, we take their blessings daily and serve them. Fortunately not many Indians fell in that trap, as there was much more important event of Yoga Day.

Dear All, I would like to suggest to read this "YOGA ANATOMY" by Leslie Kaminoff, to know more about the medical science behind the Yoga. I assure you that it will clarify your doubts that yoga is not belongs to any religion, rather it is sets of exercises or asan that will be helpful to keep you healthy, which has been practicing my million peoples since centuries. I can't share the book due to the copyright as well as file size is big. Thanks!

Global celebration of International Yoga Day will illuminate a path of omniscience and self-empowered holistic health for the global citizen. Japan's work day begins with exercise and if a time slot is allocated for simple yoga and meditation in educational institutions and at the workplace in India, it will go a long way in improving the health and reducing stress levels of the people of India.
